My reading speed varies depending on the artwork, plot, quality and language
used in the manga. If it's a scanlation (thus in English), I usually just take
up 10-15mins to finish a volume, and if it's in Chinese/Japanese, it'll just
take me a little over 20-30mins to finish one, provided that both the artwork
AND plot are good. Otherwise, I'd just junk the entire thing instead of boring
myself to death with it.
I prefer anime that's actually a jack of all trades, where action, romance,
comedy, drama and mystery come together to give us one hell of a story. I really
hate tragedies and plots that border on psychology... so yeah, I really wouldn't
enjoy any anime that's too dark/angsty and makes my brain bleed with all the
scientific mumbo-jumbo.
D.Gray-Man and Tsubasa Chronicle, I like intense (not to mention mind-boggling)
plots, and these two definitely win this case. Other
anime that I liked would be Fulllmetal Alchemist, Bleach, xxxHOLiC, Trinity
Blood, Gungrave… and there’s really a whole lot more, but
the list is already too darn long as of now, so I’ll just stop here. :p
Well, it would actually depend on the guy... and his mind (and orientation, I
guess). My (hetero) male friends abhorr anything that has shounen-ai/yaoi in it,
so yeah, that would definitely classify as a genre that guys don't normally
watch. (And actually, I'd start to question the guy's REAL orientation if I see
him watching one AND not getting disgusted by it) But in my honest opinion, I
see nothing wrong with BL/yaoi, and if guys (200% hetero) watch it without
getting disgusted by it, then hey, I'm bowing to their openmindedness on the
matter-- that would mean they're mature enough to understand that people differ
from each other, no matter what their gender is-- most males back away at the
mention of the word 'yaoi' in their presence.
Another genre would probably the really cheesy and stupid romance types of
anime... something along the lines of Sailormoon and Wedding Peach. I mean,
sure, they've got action... but if the guys are watching it because of the plot,
I'd seriously be looking at them funny by now, but if they're just after the fan
service, well then, now that's an entirely different matter.
OP: Pride by High and Mighty Color (Gundam Seed Destiny), Innocent Sorrow by
Abingdon Boys School (D.Gray-Man), 19-sai by Suga Shikao (xxxHOLiC), dress by
Buck-Tick (Trinity Blood), Rolling Star by YUI (Bleach)
ED: Sakura Biyori by Hoshimura Mai (Bleach), Annani Isshodatta Noni (Gundam
Seed), Houki Boshi by Younha (Bleach), Romancing Train by move (FF: Unlimited),
Snow Kiss by Nirgilis (D.Gray-Man), Glory ~Kimi ga Iru Kara~ by Uehara Takako
(One Piece), Shouchi no Tsuke by Suitei Shoujo (One Piece)
I took up Nihongo as my minor in college, so I sort of used anime/manga as a
means to refresh my memory on my (temporarily on hiatus) Nihongo lessons, it
really is helpful, except for the fact that I just get to remember how to
construct informal/casual statements... ' That
be the downside of trying to learn Japanese by watching anime.
I recommend Bleach, D.Gray-man, xxxHOLiC, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, Trinity
Blood if you prefer the general shounen type of manga, now if you go for shoujo,
I'd recommend Vampire Knight, Koukou Debut, Cat Street, Goong and HanaKimi.
Dunno what to say... I
personally would hate to see this group go, but if it helps MiniTokyo's
reorganization/reshuffling/whichever, then I guess certain sacrifices have to be
made. Anyway, I'll leave it up to adz to decide 'coz he's the group's
founder, so final say should be his, I'll support his decision as co-admin.
EDIT: I have a question, what is flip's purpose anyway? Aside from the two
groups having the Filipino theme. I'm not a member of flip, so I have no idea.
>.>
Speaking of credits, is there a bug or something with the credit system? I just
noticed my credit count went down by one, and I didn't even download anything
yesterday. Also checked if there were any deleted submissions of mine, but there
seems to be none. :| It'd be highly appreciated if the mdos could look into
this. Just wondering though, if a member removes a submission from his/her
favorites list, does it also decrease the image owner's credit count? If that's
the case, then just ignore my complaint. Heh.
Well gee, at least some developments already happened to flip, even if it was
yet another weird "reshuffling"... at least the control's back with
the original admin now.
But what about MT-Philippines? A great deal of nothing.
*pokes the MT mods*
I just find it odd that both flip and MT-Philippines are jacked at almost the
same time *and* with lapuk ending up
as sole administrator for both groups. Filipino-Community was also hacked I
believe, but the current "admin" there's not lapuk. All 3 of the
biggest Filipino communities hacked almost consecutively? Looks kinda fishy imo,
and if you look at lapuk's userpage, you'll see that those 2 are the only groups
he's an admin in. I don't know lapuk at all, so can't really judge him, but I
must admit that his current (unauthorized) admin access to both groups is
suspicious and disturbing.
Anyway, I hope this issue will be resolved soon.
P.S. Btw, I'm co-administrator (or at least I used to be before all this mess
happened) for MT-Philippines.
A good combination of both. A manga with superb artwork is totally meaningless
if the storyline is shallow and senseless. As for a manga with a good storyline
and disappointing artwork won't work well with me too, as I also draw and can't
help but be disappointment/lose interest in a manga that has really horrible
artwork.
"Anna ni Isshodatta Noni" by See-Saw (Gundam Seed).
It's such a lonely song, it's extremely satisfying to listen to it when you feel
like being left alone, not to mention it's really relaxing.
I go for the deviant type. So that would definitely be Sanzo.
But to be tied down for eternity? He's definitely not gonna be husband
material.
I'd say Kougaiji would be the husband of my dreams. Tough
and all on the outside, but he's a total marshmallow inside. Oh yeah, definitely
hubby material for my tastes.
Luffy: "Where are we?"
Nami: "Inside the belly of a snake. This snake was on a rampage and chased
after us, then it ate us."
Luffy (with sad eyes): "You got eaten by a snake? How sad."
Nami (vein popping): "You also got eaten, you idiot! How else could you be
in here!"
Luffy: "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? We're inside the belly of a
snake?!"
Nami: "That's what I've been telling you all this time!"
Quote by BanchanSa(...) ; It's
utterly and astoundingly stupid. Everyone there must be dumber than dirt as to
NOT realize who the people are behind those damn ridiculously short and skimpy
costumes. Not to mention the sheer stupidity of the enemies to *wait* for them
to finish their will-finish-in-ten-more-years transformations before attacking
them. Yes, I call it dementia... the sheer stupidity of it all. It totally
undermines the human mind. -.-
Or maybe it's brilliance Come
on, all Clark Kent does is take off his glasses and put on spandex and
lo-an-behold, "It's Superman!". And while I'm not big on skimpy
skirts, you gotta admit it's more practical than fighting in a full fledged
dress (Wedding Peach...............
*twicthes*). I agree on the fact the enemy is pretty stupid to sit there and
watch them use their 5 minute special attacks, though. Weird, but still not
really demented.
To each his own. It
just plain challenges the intellect because of the lack of logic in it. It
defies logic, and that's what makes it crazy. Let's
just say my IQ points dropped. (Nothing like how watching Monty Python and the
Holy Grail managd to totally blow my brain and logic outta my head though)
Story-wise, I mean, moon history and all, I'm okay with it. But seriously... the
fighting. THAT is what creeps me out.
Gah, Wedding Peach was more tolerable for me... (just don't take into
consideration the fighting and costumes, otherwise, I'd just run like hell in
the opposite direction)
And uh, I never was a fan of Superman anyway. :p I'm more of a Batman fan.
Like any sane and hardcore Gundam Seed/Seed Destiny fan would want.
Athrun and Cagalli. -- Of course we all know how totally screwed over it got
because the damn writers had a change of heart and decided to not acknowledge
that there actually is a relationship between them. Stupidity definitely has no
cure.
Kira and Lacus. -- Aw c'mon, who would want these two together? A match made in
heaven, I suppose. Too damn perfect though. u_u;
Mwu and Murrue. -- I'm gonna kill those writers if these two don't end up
together.
Dearka and Miriallia. -- For laughs!
Miri's definitely gonna give Dearka a run for his money and sanity... not to
mention health.
Oh, and I don't give a rat's *ss about Shinn. FYI. So
he can just go straight to the pits of Tartarus.
Sailormoon. ; It's utterly and astoundingly stupid. Everyone there must be

Let's put it this way... I want 9 out of every 10 titles I've watched so far to
have a sequel. Why? Coz nearly every anime that's worth watching ends in a
cliffhanger ('kay fine, they just give closure only if you read the manga--which
is hard since most of them usually consists of really lengthy volumes). Like
Trinity Blood, Get Backers, Hellsing, Rayearth, Fruits Basket, and a helluva lot
more. u_u;
This is definitely one of those trick questions. But oh well,
might was well take the bait.
My pick: Shounen-ai. Why? Coz I'm a girl and the thought of girl-on-girl just
plain disturbs me. Okay, it REALLY disturbs me. -.-
Playing Final Fantasy Piano Collections, Advent Children and Dirge of
Cerberus.
Yeah, I'm that much into FF music. :p Nobuo Uematsu ftw! <3 'coz you'll never
go wrong with FF music.

xxxHOLiC: Doumeki Shizuka, Mokona
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle: Fai d' Flourite & Kurogane

Card Captor Sakura: Yue & Touya

I'd say 9 out of 10 of my friends are all anime lovers, and to tell the truth, anime was actually THE reason why we're friends-- common interest.
